Natural resources
There are many natural resources in the Midwest Region. It's rich soil and good climate make it good for farming. Four of the five great lakes form the northern boundary of the Midwest, so it has easy, inexpensive water travel. Also, the areas around the great lakes are rich in iron ore, copper, and limestone. The waterways are also an important resource. A lot of the cities have developed as trading posts as travelers. There is a lot of timber found in the Black Hills.Natural resources are important to the Midwest Region for many different reasons.
